Sir Albert and his lovely wife, Lady Cordelia, both grew up in the lush, green pastures steeped in the history and culture of the aristocratic llamas of eras past.  They met as young llamas, and forever claimed that this meeting created a spark that could only be described as love at first sight.

They shared an appreciation for fine arts and crafts that went beyond their tutored education and upbringing, and this appreciation quickly grew into a passion.  They dedicated their lives to the pursuit of not just art, but also the process behind it—the creativity, imagination and joy that went into it, and that they believed could be held and channeled by anyone, not just trained “artistes.”

As the years went on and the world changed, Sir Albert and Lady Cordelia grew saddened as they noticed how increasingly mass-produced all aspects of life were becoming.  Creativity, individualized innovation, and workmanship that stood the test of time were being traded for vast quantity, quick production and disposability.  Realizing how much was at stake, Sir Albert and Lady Cordelia donated their sizable estate to the pursuit of all things crafty and all things fancy, and as a result their timeless images have come to epitomize a grassroots, do-it-yourself approach to the creative abilities of us all.

Inspired by the ideals of these two fine llamas, we have decided to follow in their honoured hoofprints and pursue a life of craftiness and creative joy.  The Fancy Llama is our canvas for sharing all the DIY love.

Thank you, Sir Albert and Lady Cordelia, thank you!
